ARAB LEAGUE

By: Maria Fernanda Saldarriaga

On the last day of debate, the Arab League started with a resolute aim and different delegates proposed some viable solutions to end the current migratory crisis. To exemplify it, the Islamic Republic of Iran proposed to drive the immigrants away by sending them to signing countries of the United Nations. By duty, these countries are on the obligation of supplying their basic needs. The delegations looked for support to revoke the actual Syrian president. Simultaneously, some delegates worked hard to find the most effective solutions, even using social media, by posting a survey. According to some delegations, the problem with this proposal is the fact that Syrians do

not have enough economic resources to have either electronic device, no access to the Internet. Although they kept trying to solve the concerning humanitarian crisis, there are a lot of unsettled possible outcomes if those proposals are taken into account; to recall some, issues about possible

casualties traveling from their country to others or transportation costs for the 7 million refugees were the ones brought up into the discussions. As time passed, the atmosphere became tenser, delegates contradicted each other and the idea of a solution seemed further and further away.
