RAGNAR ANNOUNCES NEW TRAIL RUNNING EVENTS

Following years of extraordinary growth in the United States , Ragnar has spread its wings with races in the UK and Europe and now Australia , starting with Ragnar Trail Glenworth Valley on October 27-28 , 2018 .

Tanner Bell , Co-Founder and President of Ragnar said , " Ragnar ’ s namesake was a legendary hero of Norse Mythology . He was a larger-than-life explorer , adventurer and wildman . I can think of few cultures that embody these Ragnar virtues better than Aussies . We have scoured Australia to find the most fantastic trail courses in Australia and Glenworth Valley and Sirromet are the best of the best . I can ’ t wait to see the wild men and women of Australia as they conquer these courses . Move over Norse Mythology a new breed of adventurers is about to take on Ragnar .”
Ragnar Oceania Director and Co-Founder Trent Taylor said that Ragnar Trail relays will add a new dimension to the Australian running calendar .
“ Summer camp for adults is a perfect description of Ragnar Trail events . The Ragnar brand is fun , the events are highly inclusive and offer something for everyone whether you are an elite trail runner or a running enthusiast looking for your next challenge . The teams based nature of Ragnar makes it a highly social affair and many do it with lot of flair , particularly some elaborate camp-site set ups and choice of running apparel .”
The central Ragnar village is the epicenter of the Ragnar social experience where participants have the chance to grab some food , buy Ragnar gear , be entertained by on-stage performers , watch a movie , hang out around the fire , catch a quick nap , cheer for other runners , grab a drink , take part in contests and enjoy the whole Ragnar Trail experience .
“ We also can ’ t wait to introduce our Australian participants to s ’ mores , a delicious , gooey , chocolately staple around the campfire at Ragnar Trail village ," said Taylor .
Ragnar Trail events see teams of 8 ( or teams of 4 for Ultra teams ) conquer a 180 to 200-ish km course over two days and one night with friends and a community of runners by their side .
