T
he Huskisson Run Festival, taking place on Sunday October
29, is the culmination of three days of racing in the
beautiful Jervis Bay, Huskisson.
Huskisson, home of the much loved Big Husky Triathlon
Festival, plays host to the inaugural Long Course Weekend on
our shores. The three-day event offers participants a unique
opportunity to swim Friday, ride Saturday and run on Sunday. With
the flexibility of longer and shorter disciplines each day, it’s the
perfect way to start your season of racing. This fun and inclusive
format is ideal for clubs, training groups and families to come
along and enjoy the benefits of training and racing together.
To finish the Long Course Weekend, athletes will compete in
The Huskisson Run Festival, offering a 42.2km marathon taking in
the beautiful coastline of Jervis Bay and Huskisson. The course is
generally flat and fast with an undulating section at the top end
of the course. There is also a half marathon, 10km run and a 5km
option which makes this an event for everyone.
Runners in every distance will receive a medal as part of the
Long Course Weekend collection. Competing in the swim and
bike days also enables participants to put together the impressive
interlocking Long Course Weekend bling!
Throughout the weekend participants and spectators will be
able to head down to the expo which opens on Friday afternoon.
Fitting with the theme of the weekend, there will also be
informative workshops and seminars for some handy tips ahead of
racing each day. The start of every day will also kick start with some
morning yoga sessions – free for everyone in town!

VISIT JERVIS BAY
Jervis Bay’s famous white-sand beaches and clear turquoise waters
are amongst the safest and most beautiful in the world. Coastal,
marine and hinterland National Parks offer fantastic bushwalking,
cycling tracks, Indigenous culture, camping spots, cliff-top
lookouts and maritime heritage. Teeming with native Australian
wildlife, the resident dolphins play in the bay all year round. One
of the best places in Australia to witness whales on their annual
migrations, humpbacks and southern white whales can be seen
both offshore and inside the calmer waters of the bay from June
through to November.
The many bay and ocean beaches, lagoons, secret coves and
hidden creeks are perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating,
fishing, stand up paddle boarding and surfing.
