Behind the Scenes Same but Different
Since One Mission Society( OMS) began 125 years ago, multiplication has been at the heart of our vision. OMS cofounder Ernest A. Kilbourne wrote,“ The native( national) ministry is the solution … if a missionary can train, say, five Japanese … and have them preaching in three or four years, he will have multiplied himself by five … so we claim that a Bible training school is the quickest method … of saving the soul of Japan.”
Today, that same vision remains foundational to OMS. In more recent years, our ministries have expanded rapidly through intentional multiplication. Each year, OMS actively trains thousands of church planters not only to preach, but also to share the Gospel, make disciples, plant new churches, and equip others to do the same. In this way, the work does not stop with one person or one church but forms a pattern of multiplication that continues from one generation to the next.
In this issue of Outreach, you’ ll catch a glimpse of how OMS is working to reach the billions who do not yet know Christ— using multiplication strategies that empower disciples to make more disciples and plant more churches. You’ ll read stories from around the world of strategic ministries that God is blessing in remarkable ways.
