One single lovely volunteer will be needed each month to bring two dozen cookies to
the general meeting. Napkins will be provided by the club. We will have pitchers of
water at each meeting, graciously provided by Platte Woods United Methodist.
If you desire a fizzy drink- soda only ; ) or tea; you'll need to bring you own.
At this time we are in need of said volunteer to bring those two dozen extra delicious
cookies to the October meeting. If you would like to show your baking talents (or purchasing skills in some cases) in October or any future months, please contact either:

Wow! What a month. We had the Consignment Sale, Hambingo, and a ton of finalizing
on Convention details. I am exhausted and really the best is yet to come.

Convention reminds me of the very essence of NMOM: friendship and support. It is a time
to come together with MoMs from all over the state and network. I have made great friends and lasting
connections at convention. I have also gotten a greater network of support than I could have achieved on my
own. I am excited to be a co-chair and honored to represent NMOM.
NMOM really has been the start of it all for me. So in keeping with our Newsletter Contest here is the questions:
“What is your fondest NMOM friendship moment?”
I have so many, it is really hard to say. I guess when I think to the moment that defines NMOM it comes
down to two. I was completely fed up and at my wits end when the kids were 5 months old and was having an
issue rocking both to sleep at the same time and then somehow placing each in their crib without dropping the
other. I posted the problem on the Yahoo board and within three hours I had ten different responses varying
from ideas to support, it was an amazing comfort. The second moment is one I would not soon forget. I was
going through one of the most difficult times of my adult life, money was beyond tight and emotions were high.
I had a knock at my front door and went to the door to find an NMOM member that at the time I didn’t
know well. She told me she had heard about my situation and handed me a Price Chopper gift card. To my
shock when I checked the balance I found it was $200.00. I can not tell you what this incredibly generous gift
meant to me then nor what it means to me now. I can only say Thank You, from my very soul, thank you to
that member and to NMOM for creating a platform for such amazing friendship and support.
