Aside from Chelsea’s already busy school schedule, she swims with the Junior Panthers Swim Team. She
has been swimming with the team for about 8 years, and currently practices three times per week to compete in city swim meets. In her available time, Chelsea enjoys cooking with her mother and learning how to
make cultural traditional foods, such as mole.
As Chelsea looks to her future, she finds inspiration from her mother, Tania, and looks to her as a role model. Tania is close to completing her Nursing program at Salt Lake Community College, something that Chelsea is very proud of. “My mother has shown me that you work hard to get what you want,” said Chelsea.
When Chelsea talks about post high school plans, she plans to attend college near her family. She would
like to study to be a Veterinarian, due to her interest in caring for animals. At the moment, her current goal is
to complete high school with high academic success.
Chelsea encourages the up and coming students at PHA and the rest of the younger generations, to “not
give up, keep at it, things may seem challenging but if you keep practicing it will happen”.
