Here at MCA we are a small office - four to be exact. We have just hired
three new team members and we would like you to get to know them.
Chum reap suor, my name is Jenny Hor. I am a recent graduate of the University
of Utah. My studies included Human Development and Family Studies, Consumer
and Community Studies and a minor in Political Science. As a native of West Valley
City I see diversity as an integral part of communities. My time at the Utah Office
of Multicultural Affairs has furthered my commitment to working collectively with
underrepresented communities. I am a member of the Khemera Dance Troupe, a
group that I credit for helping me maintain my cultural identity. Through this danc
group, I perform traditional Khmer dances throughout the Salt Lake Valley. This August will mark my 14th year with the group! I am also a self professed nerd; I enjoy
reading and watching cliché movies in my spare time. My favorite books include
The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, both by Khaled Hosseini.
Hola, my name is Sattia Maria Chozo. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru and
moved here to Salt Lake City eight years ago seeking a better future. I am a
sophomore at the University of Utah where I am working on my Bachelor’s Degree
in information systems with a minor in Spanish and Italian. As a Latina and first
generation college student I have found that education and community service is
an essential part of becoming successful in life. I have served as president of the
first Latina Sorority, Kappa Delta Chi. I have been a mentor for the Adelante Partnership for the past three years and have loved every minute of it. I love serving
the diverse community here in Utah and know that maintaining a great academic
record is essential.
Aloha, my name is Stanford K. Kekauoha and I am a mutt. I come from a Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Scottish and Irish background. I transferred schools
from Hawaii to attend the University of Utah where I just graduated with my B.S. in
Communication. Because of my background I have always been fascinated with
the diverse cultures our world has to offer and always love learning more about
them. I believe that every culture
