2011-2013 Department of Medicine 41 spotlight Nicholas Havens, MD (left) joined the infectious disease faculty in July 2012 as a courtesy physician. Dr. Havens is an excellent addition to the division. He received his MD from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine, and subsequently matriculated into the medicine-pediatrics residency program at Mizzou followed by a two year Fellowship in Infectious Disease here at MU. Dr. Havens is a wonderful teacher exhibited by several teaching awards he received during his residency and fellowship including the MSAC Most Outstanding Resident Award; Outstanding Resident Student Teaching award and MSAC Excellence in Education Resident award. Christian Rojas-Moreno, MD (right) joined faculty in July 2013. He serves as a hospitalist and as infectious disease attending, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows while on both services. When not on either service, he has two private clinics for general infectious disease as well as HIV patients.
