Community Outreach
— with MVHA
The board and volunteers have been busy attending community events.
Neighborhood socials held for the Old Mountain View,
Monta Loma, Cuesta Park and Shoreline West areas provided a great avenue for MVHA to speak to people about the history of their neighborhoods and MV. Robert Cox and Melanie Kaye created trifold flyers about the history of the
Wagon Wheel, Monta Loma and Old Mountain View neighborhoods, which were distributed at those events. MVHA is planning to create additional flyers for other Mountain View neighborhoods in 2026
Carol Donahue, Pamela Baird, Anthea Chung and Elena Lopez offer visitors information and history books at Bubb Park
MVHA participated in the Fall Harvest Festival at Heritage Park on September 13 and the Volunteer Fair on August 30. Both events gave us the opportunity to speak about the events and programs that MVHA creates.
Additionally, Robert Cox presented two lectures, one in July and one in August, about conducting genealogy research. These were held at the MV Library. Watch for information about future lectures at the MV Library presented by the MVHA.
