A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER

Swartklip is a town located in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Owned by Anglo American, this platinum producing Union Mine is found 15km west of the Northam town in Limpopo and North West provinces of South Africa. The mine operates under a mining right, covering a total of 119km 2 in the north-western section of the Bushveld Igneous Complex( BIC), which is the richest source of platinum group metals( PGM).

The BIC is a large layered igneous intrusion within the Earth ' s crust which has been tilted and eroded and now outcrops around what appears to be the edge of a great geological basin, including Mpumalanga, Gauteng, North West and Limpopo provinces, which covers a pear-shaped area.

This is MTE’ s eleventh exhibition in the area.

For those who are not familiar with MTE, this travelling exhibitions company has been running for more than two decades, providing a unique platform for suppliers of top-ofthe-line mining and industrial equipment to showcase their goods to a community hungry for new technology, services and information – right on its doorstep.
