A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER

Pongola is a small town situated in northern KwaZulu- Natal province, South Africa. Pongola has 50km ² of sugarcane and subtropical fruit plantations surrounding it. During the depression years of the 1930s, radical irrigation systems were introduced in Pongola and the town thrived as a result of the canal system and a sugar mill that were built there.

Considered as the jewel of KwaZulu-Natal, uPhongolo or Pongola is now said to be‘ right at the heart of the Zulu Kingdom’. The Pongola expo is an industrial show that incorporates the Kiepersol Colliery in Mpumalanga, the Pongola sugar mill and surrounding communities.

This is MTE’ s first exhibition in the area! For those who are not familiar with MTE, this travelling exhibitions company has been running for more than two decades, providing a unique platform for suppliers of topof-the-line mining and industrial equipment to showcase their goods to a community hungry for new technology, services and information – right on its doorstep.
