A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER

Pongola is a small town situated in northern KwaZulu- Natal province , South Africa . Pongola has 50km ² of sugarcane and subtropical fruit plantations surrounding it . During the depression years of the 1930s , radical irrigation systems were introduced in Pongola and the town thrived as a result of the canal system and a sugar mill that were built there .

Considered as the jewel of KwaZulu-Natal , uPhongolo or Pongola is now said to be ‘ right at the heart of the Zulu Kingdom ’. The Pongola expo is an industrial show that incorporates the Kiepersol Colliery in Mpumalanga , the Pongola sugar mill and surrounding communities .

This is MTE ’ s first exhibition in the area ! For those who are not familiar with MTE , this travelling exhibitions company has been running for more than two decades , providing a unique platform for suppliers of topof-the-line mining and industrial equipment to showcase their goods to a community hungry for new technology , services and information – right on its doorstep .
