A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER
Welcome to the Free State!
The Mining and Technical Exhibitions (MTE) team will be on
the road once again — this time in the Free State for two
exciting exhibitions.
First on the list is Beatrix on 7 November 2017 at the
Security Soccer field from 13:00 to 17:00. Visitors and
exhibitors will engage and mingle with each other to
discuss all things mining.
Gold mining began in Beatrix around 1985. Beatrix mine is
located about 240km south-west of Johannesburg close to
Welkom and Virginia. The mine is currently operating under
new mining rights, covering a total of 16 817 hectares.
Beatrix is principally an underground mine with nominal
surface reserves represented by surface rock dumps (SRDs)
accumulated during the operating history of the mine.
The MTE team has customised this exhibition especially
for the gold mining industry to achieve high-impact in the
industry. Although mainly for the gold mining industry, the
exhibition also caters for visitors from other areas of the
mining industry in addition to gold mining. Ultimately visitors
and exhibitors from all areas of the mining industry stand to
benefit from this exhibition.
After Beatrix, the MTE team will head to Welkom on
9 November 2017 at Hoër Tegniese Skool Welkom’s rugby
field from 13:00 to 17:00. Welkom is the second largest town
in Free State province — and the central point of gold mining
in South Africa.
Although gold is the dominant mineral in Welkom, the area is
also home to other minerals such as uranium and diamonds.
As such, this exhibition has been planned and organised to
cover all relevant areas of Welkom’s mining industry. MTE is
looking forward to seeing visitors from Joel mine Phakisa
mine Target mine and Masimong mine, among others.
For those who are not familiar with MTE, this travelling
exhibition company has been running for over two decades,
providing a unique platform for suppliers of top-of-the-line
mining and industrial equipment to showcase their goods
to a community hungry for new technology, services and
information – right on its doorstep.
We trust the expo will be a rewarding experience – whether
you are visiting or exhibiting. However, we are always open to
suggestions as to how we can make future expos even more
accommodating for you and your business.
