RUN
Buller
TRAILS
EVENTS
It’s time to get off the tarmac, away from the pollution and
noise of the big smoke, and into the High Country. Lace
up tight and get ready to tackle some of the most inspiring
trails you’ve ever encountered. Mt Buller’s intricate
network offers an incredible trail running experience for all
levels; the views are truly magnificent, the air cool, fresh
and clean, and the terrain ranges from smooth-sailing, to
downright gut-busting.
We all know the line, ‘There’s no such thing as a ‘fun’
run’. But on Mt Buller we’d beg to differ. When the views
are to die for, the trails are purpose-built and you’re far
from the madding crowd, it’s hard not to have fun. That’s
why we think Mt Buller’s running events are great way to
get involved and be part of the growing sport that is trail
running. If running for you involves a gentle pace and a
three-wheel pram, try the Mountain High Fun Run. If you
prefer a challenging technical run, the Mt Buller Skyrun is
for you, and if you’re happiest clocking up the miles on a
long-distance ultra-run, give the Hut 2 Hut Oscars 100 a
go. Click here to find out more.
Summit Nature Loop
One of Mt Buller’s best introductions to the delights of trail
running, the Summit Nature Loop starts and finishes in
the Mt Buller Village. After a short, steep climb up Summit
Road the path gently circles across the mountain through
wildflower fields, past century-old snow gums, revealing
panoramic views across the Alps. To really get that ‘on
top of the world’ feeling take the trail extension to the true
Summit, pinnacling at over 1800m. The descent takes
you nor th, with views to the Bluff and beyond, to finish in
the Village.
Delatite Drop
This intermediate run includes an elevation loss of over
1000m plunging from mountain-top snow gum forests,
through soaring stands of mountain ash, to the ferny
and lush Delatite Valley. The evocative call of the Black
Cockatoo carries through the valley, while the scent of
alpine mint hangs in the air. With each twist and turn you’ll
gain momentum. Log bridges span the rippling river, crisscrossing their way down to Mirimbah Park, where the
water beckons, this time an invitation to slow down and
cool off.
