Kaseya ’ s Multimillion-Dollar FedRAMP Move – Here ’ s What It Means For MSPs
Kaseya is investing millions to gain FedRAMP authorization across its technology stack , aiming to support managed service providers with their compliance requirements , including CMMC for supporting their customers that are Department of Defense ( DoD ) contractors . To lead this effort , Kaseya appointed Jon DePerro as vice president of FedRAMP and Compliance Solutions , leveraging his two decades of compliance expertise , including a background as a U . S . Army counterintelligence officer and experience building compliance solutions for MSPs .
This commitment marks Kaseya as one of the first MSP-focused platforms pursuing FedRAMP , a government framework that ensures secure cloud services . Achieving this authorization will empower MSPs to secure their clients while tapping into new opportunities in the defense sector , where over 80,000 organizations will need CMMC Level 2 certification or higher . CEO Fred Voccola emphasizes that this initiative not only enables MSPs
to meet rising security standards but also expands their business potential .
According to Max Pruger , Kaseya ' s GM of Audit and Compliance , achieving FedRAMP compliance is a multi-year process requiring each of Kaseya ’ s 40 + modules to pass rigorous security assessments . DePerro underscores the importance of compliance as a business imperative , noting that Kaseya ’ s proactive approach will allow MSPs to grow amidst industry changes rather than be hindered by them . “ By us getting on the road to meeting more advanced compliance requirements like FedRAMP , we are trying to position our partners to take advantage of these changes ,” says DePerro .
