titan is someone of exceptional intellect and strength who stands out for greatness of achievement . Henry Fleches , CEO of UDT , is a titan in every sense of the word . Henry was selected in October 2023 from a group of finalists chosen by MSP Success and voted on at DattoCon by MSP peers to be the MSP Success 2023 Titan of the Year . First-generation Americans , Henry and his business partner , Gerard Amaro , started UDT with nothing — no money , clients , or advantage of any kind . They worked through challenging times , including the 2000 era , 9 / 11 , and the 2008 financial crisis . They survived when natural disasters impacted the territories they focused on . Yet they ’ ve grown to a nine-figure business .
Henry and Gerard met in high school when they became teammates on the Dade Christian High School football team . They are from similar backgrounds as their parents had to leave their home countries ( Cuba and the Dominican Republic ) with nothing and start over . They watched their parents struggle and strive to give their families the best opportunity to succeed . “ They conducted a lot of hard work , and we saw that growing up as kids ,” Henry said . “ The family unit was important . Work ethic was extremely important .”
Henry started in IT while attending Florida International University . “ I was working for my father and looking to get into IT ,” Henry said . He worked for Miami-Dade Community College at the Medical Center in the IT department before he and Gerard launched UDT in 1995 out of a bedroom in his parents ’ home . “ We had no customers , no experience , no money , but we had nothing to lose ,” Henry said .
They continued working other jobs , putting hours into UDT after-hours and on weekends . “ We were on
