Success Breeds Success : Meet The All-Star Finalists

The annual TMT Better Your Best Contest showcased five MSPs who have successfully implemented marketing and business strategies to propel revenue , profits , and influence for their businesses . These four finalists shared their success stories alongside winner Mario Zaki .
Most people talk about raising a ceiling , but Brandis Kelly discussed how “ raising the floor ” made the difference for Firestone , Colorado-based DigeTekS . She told the audience how she ’ d felt overwhelmed and insignificant at her first Boot Camp in 2019 , a time when she said DigeTekS was reaching for smaller , less significant wins .
“ Happiness is very subjective ,” Kelly said . “ But I believe the formula for achieving happiness is really quite simple . When happiness seems out of reach , don ’ t focus on the ceiling . Raise your floor .”
Brandis Kelly , President , Midwest Division , DigeTekS
When DigeTekS raised its floor — invested in doing the work , going for action over perfection — the company began seeing year-over-year revenue and profit growth . Kelly said joining TMT raised the floor for DigeTekS even higher : spurring strategic partnerships , increasing visibility , and expanding its footprint , with a goal to achieve best-in-class metrics .
Nathaniel Kemberling shared how Houston , Texas-based BroCoTec has grown from $ 0 to $ 3.4 million since 2019 . They started with a $ 600 lead list , which he said was akin to a pizza company buying a “ truckload of rotten tomatoes .” Hiring lead generation got the ball rolling , but they still needed to learn how to focus and balance intense lead gen with follow-up and service delivery .
Nathaniel Kemberling , President / CEO , BroCoTec
Joining TMT was like culinary school for Kemberling ’ s proverbial pizza company . It helped BroCoTec figure out a communications plan and home in on a target client profile . With nearly 26,000 customer touch points through snail mail and phone calls over the years , BroCoTec cracked the $ 1 million revenue mark and owners started getting “ real paychecks ” in 2023 .
Father and son Mike and Hunter Farlow said “ imitate before you innovate ” was a key to growth for Graham , North Carolina-based ComTech Network Solutions . Mike said by 2019 , the business was at $ 3 million with 6 % margins but still “ broken ” as it had taken 30 years to get to that point with just word-of-mouth referrals . Good service wasn ’ t enough .
Mike Farlow , CEO , and Hunter Farlow , Marketing Director , ComTech Network Solutions
Attending TMT Boot Camps — and trainings in between — gave ComTech the direction needed to grow faster . They repurposed and updated marketing materials , and overcame the fear of raising prices to capitalize on the momentum . They even built an in-house studio to accelerate creation of their popular video content .
Another proud marker of success : ComTech marketed the company with its own version of TMT ’ s Boot Camp last year , including a $ 140,000 Corvette giveaway .
Todd Clark lives off the grid in Alaska , but he became highly plugged in with TMT . He ’ d learned as a fisherman in a rough natural environment to “ grab it like you own it ,” but TMT showed him that he hadn ’ t been applying that lesson himself .
Todd Clark , President / vCIO , DenaliTEK
So , the company raised prices while ramping up their marketing . Clark also shook up the staff , taking over the vCIO position and promoting the administrative manager to operations manager to take over some of his duties , freeing Clark up to book 33 quarterly business reviews with clients in the first quarter , create a ransomware survival kit to meet customer needs , and become an industry leader by creating the nonprofit Cybersecure Alaska .
