CyberUp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to cultivate the cybersecurity talent pipeline for today and tomorrow. They accomplish this through their nationally recognized LevelUp: Apprenticeship Program and their youth focused PowerUp: Cyber Games.
CyberUp launched in February 2016 as a regional effort with Scott Air Force Base, St. Louis Regional Chamber, Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois, UNCOMN, and LMI to expand the availability of cybersecurity talent. In a short time, the organization has grown to be a nationally recognized initiative who has the solution to shrinking the forecasted 1.5 million job openings by 2021.
Supporting both individuals & companies through a nationally recognized Cybersecurity Analyst apprenticeship program. CyberUp’s trains candidates in foundational IT concepts and in-depth cybersecurity best practices. The combination of technical, soft, and critical thinking skills training prepares individuals for the rigor of an in-demand cybersecurity role.
CyberUp also connects youth with opportunities to explore cybersecurity as a career option. They believe it is critical to the future of our workforce that middle and high schoolers view cybersecurity as something they can pursue. This requires introducing students to the concept of cybersecurity early and often.
The youth and adults served by CyberUp need support. They need mentors, trainers and, sometimes, just someone to turn to for advice. Getting involved may be quick and easy, but the memories you make giving back to others will last a lifetime.
