HOT JOBS

The apprenticeship program  follows the Ironworking curriculum accredited by the NCCER; it combines classroom training and our partners—the steel erection  companies—provide the OJT. For fast track employees, the apprenticeship is 3 years long; after meeting all requirements, hours, and practical applications they receive journeyman status. To complete the apprenticeship program, Adaptive Construction Solutions hosts continuing education for the Veterans in the field to attend, which consists of 40 hours of training and occurs every 3 months.

Adaptive Construction Solutions’ mission is to provide a hand up, not a hand out to Veterans. To ensure that we keep this standard, we  have created processes and requirements  that the Veteran must  pass to be accepted into the program, due to the fact that  Ironworking is a physically intense career that requires agility, mental toughness and strength.

All Veteran applicants must provide their DD-214, attend an interview process (face-to-face or Skype™), must agree to undergo a background check, pass a medical exam, and attend  an  at-Heights evaluation course. ACS Ironworks wants to provide opportunities to all Veterans, therefore we have not set strict limitations on which members of the Veteran community we will hire. In the past, we have hired homeless Veterans, Veterans with previous addiction problems, and Veterans attending Vet court for non-violent charges (however every Veteran is vetted on a case by case basis).

To begin the application, Veterans should visit our website at  www.acstexas.com  to learn more information about the company and Ironworking. Once the Veteran decides to pursue  a career in ironworking, they then must fill out the applicant questionnaire located at  www.acstexas.com/contact. The questionnaire asks basic questions about the applicant, their GI Bill, and if they are willing to undergo the background and medical screenings that we require. From there, our talent acquisition team will reach out to the Veteran and begin the interview process.

Adaptive Construction Solutions is successful because we harness the military culture of camaraderie and having your teammate’s six. We achieve this through  specific squads  within the training program, a high focus on safety regulations, and hosting numerous events for our employees, our partner companies, and staff members. Recently, the company packed up 20-25 Veterans with tools, supplies, plywood and other resources to aid in the  flood relief  in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A month later, on one day’s notice, ACS packed up 16 Veterans with thousands of meals, chainsaws, and supplies to aid victims of Hurricane Matthew in  Holly Hill, South Carolina. We have established an atmosphere where the Veterans understand that this is more than just a career—this is a support system for them, their families, and their communities.
