Military Appreciation Month

May is Military Appreciation Month, and May 8th is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. At CASY & MSCCN, we are honored to work with and for military spouses, who are resilient, creative members of our military and Veteran communities.

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, we’re turning our “CEO Par Excellence” series over to a special leader in the military spouse community, Mrs. Linda Odierno, the wife of the 38th Chief of Staff of the United States Army, General Ray Odierno. Mrs. Odierno’s leadership as a military spouse and volunteer has made her an important voice in our communities and an inspirational leader.

This month, Mrs. Odierno shares with us an important message about volunteering and community. Through her volunteer efforts, Mrs. Odierno has connected with soldiers, families, and staff at our Army’s medical hospitals and provided therapeutic interactions with her therapy dog, Tootsie.

At CASY & MSCCN, we believe that volunteerism is an important facet of our military communities. It strengthens our connections to one another and our communities by building bridges between us and serving the needs of our children, spouses, military members, and Veterans.

Additionally, CASY & MSCCN advocate for volunteerism as a way to build skills and gain experience for our job applicants. For military spouses especially, who, due to PCSing, can have gaps in their employment history, volunteering can help you build your resume and develop your professional skills.

CASY & MSCCN provide volunteer opportunities through Career Corps, our unique volunteer program that successfully transitions volunteers to employment. Learn more about Career Corps on page 9!

CASY & MSCCN thank Mrs. Odierno

for her time, participation, and

commitment to our military community!
