a military spouse, professional, and business owner. Frank and passionate, Voirol laid all her cards on the table for an audience that appreciatetd not only her humor, but also her commitment to other military spouses.
Speaking to a room of entrepreneurs and job seekers, Voirol recapped her decision to leave college, marry, and move to 1990s Fort Hood, which she explained was not quite as lovely as present-day Fort Hood is. After an unfortunate PCS to Germany that left her and her spouse without housing, Voirol vowed to never be the spouse who didn’t know how to do what needed to be done. She has spent her military spouse life
hustling and boasts several unique jobs, her own business, and an impressive volunteer track-record.
Erin’s message to the audience was simple: Do something; get moving. This life isn’t always pretty, but it’s yours.
She explained, "Sometimes it looks ugly in the beginning, sometimes it looks ugly in the middle, sometimes it looks ugly right now – that’s real life. No matter
where you’re at in your military spouse life - and you’re still struggling, that’s
okay. If you’re struggling, you’re doing something."
The event and speakers provided attendees with insight into how spouses can create their own professional possibilities. Spouses left the event encouraged to take the next steps in their careers, to identify their goals, and to honor them.
