Congratulations, Carol!
After 6 months of working with CASY, Carol was hired by the Department of Corrections.
Hiring Challenge:
In the beginning it was kind of hard. I was trying to convert from a correctional officer to an administrative assistant or paralegal. I’m also a state employee, so I needed another state job so that my benefits would rollover.
Assistance Received:
I received help with the types of questions that are asked in interviews, in addition to receiving help with my resume. I was also taught how to negotiate my salary to better fit my needs.
Results:
I was selected as a YOIS Case Manager at my current job. I have my same benefits and pension plan, great hours, and a higher salary. This is exactly the kind of administrative position I desired.
Value of Experience:
