My first step in building my business came when I became a Certified QuickBooks Pro
Advisor. Learning to use the number one accounting software for small businesses gave me a great platform to run my own accounting and bookkeeping practice. It also gave me a chance to have a flexible work schedule, and to build a business where I can help clients virtually anywhere. I am really passionate about helping my customers manage the financial aspects of their business.
Q: What does Small Business ABCs look like today? How would you like to see it grow in the future?
A: Today, I provide accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll services with minimal cost to business owners. I’m able to offer Intuit products and discounts, as they are web-based and applicable in all states. I began my business with a few clients gained through networking, and have continued to grow through their referrals and even more networking on my part. I’m also working hard to stay on pace with
technology. I make a point to set aside time during the workday to learn about new software to better help my clients save time and money. I also work to learn more efficient ways to run my own business.
Eventually, my goal for Small Business ABCs is to be a total virtual Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Consulting services business, with the time to fully devote myself to that work. Right now, I prefer to work set hours so that I can have quality time with my husband when he’s home, and my children, who are still young and want to hang out with me.
