Did you know CASY was named best in class by the Call of Duty Endowment?

The Veteran’s Employment Initiative is relatively new, but has taken off fast. Training takes place near military bases and in other communities with large populations of veterans. And perhaps most important, graduates receive job placement support from IBM’s partners at Boeing, Citi, JPMorgan Chase and USAA.

Alex credits the program with helping him discover commonalities between his military background and the requirements of civilian industry.

“Veterans can bring a tremendous amount of value to a civilian employer. We’re mature. We’re disciplined. We’re dedicated. And we’re smart. All we need – after many years in the highly regimented environment of the military – is guidance to help us understand how best to leverage our skills, along with the opportunity to contribute.”

Alex and veterans like him are adapting quickly to the corporate workplace with the same energy and dedication that they brought to national service. And through programs like the Veteran’s Employment Initiative, IBM and our partners encourage and welcome our servicemen and women to begin the next chapters of their lives.
