Try Before You Buy:

Salesforce Trailhead Training

It's always best to try before you buy an expensive or time-consuming training package and pursue certification.

Luckily, Salesforce offers Salesforce Trailhead--a free, self-paced learning opportunity with a variety of "trails" to take depending on your knowledge of CRMs and your goals in learning Salesforce.

WHERE DO I START with a FREE self-paced learning program like TRAILHEAD?

START with Learn CRM Essentials, which will take you about four and a half hours to complete. Then, continue with the other basic user trails.

IF you like the program, meet basic requirements, and would like to pursue jobs as a Salesforce administrator or developer, consider continuing on and completing the Administrator or Developer path.

Twenty years ago, if you heard the term “sales force” in a job description, you would think about the division of a company responsible for selling a product or service. Today, however, that term is more likely to refer to Salesforce, a global company

and cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) platform. Although Salesforce was only launched seventeen years ago, it has grown quickly. Its popularity is due in part to the ease with which an entire network can communicate and update via the cloud, rather than relying on software updates to individual devices.

A search of LinkedIn® reveals that Salesforce is a common requirement for many fields. Despite this fact, a search through LinkedIn® PROFILES shows that many potential candidates don’t list Salesforce in their skills section, though such knowledge is useful for a variety of jobs. Since Salesforce caters to sales, marketing, service, community, and analytics, experience with the platform can be a powerful asset. The only question, then, is how to acquire this knowledge.
