Services offered through the center include: job readiness, placement services, education assistance, and financial assistance. Through the center, RP/6 partners with nonprofits such as MSCCN and CASY, or government agencies such as the state Workforce or the Veterans
In 2015 CASY and MSCCN extended this partnership to include RP/6 with overwhelmingly positive outcomes. Through the partnership, CASY and MSCCN were able to place two Employment Specialists—one at the main RP/6 facility in Lakewood and the other at the satellite office on Joint Base Lewis McChord—to assist the military, veterans, and family members coming for assistance. In 2016 additional team members will be placed on the ground to meet the ever growing need of Washington's military-affiliates and veterans.
Beyond Employment Services:
Other organizations offer support programs in WA to help our military and veterans meet their transitional and other needs as a supplement to the state’s programs. Employment Services Focused on Placement in WA:
In 2013, the WA National Guard partnered with MSCCN and CASY to provide targeted employment and job placement services to all military, veterans, and family members in Washington. These services include no cost, targeted employment readiness, transitional assistance, gap skills training, employment placement, and financial health training.
This partnership provides the WA National Guard with a sustainable model for employment that produces outcomes. The employment model includes a placement program, an applicant tracking and case management technology to track the status of each WA military-affiliated job seeker, program and technology support, training support, Train2Hire™ opportunities, and more.
