CEO Par Excellence

Please tell us a little bit about who you are professionally and personally.

I am Director of the U.S. Army Soldier for Life program and Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army. I am also a husband and father of four. When I am not at work connecting Soldiers, Veterans and Families to education, employment and health opportunities and resources, I am either coaching my kids’ sports teams or cheering them on from the sidelines.

What inspires you to do the work you do?

The Soldier for Life program is all about making sure our Soldiers, Veterans and Military Families have the resources they need for a successful career and life both in and out of uniform.

Connecting those who serve and have served with the people and organizations that can assist them, and watching as these connections lead to making dents in major issues like Veteran unemployment and homelessness, is what inspires me.

I’ve served in several operational deployments, but acting as the Chief of Staff of the Army’s bridge between our Soldiers, Veterans and Military Families and the resources and opportunities available to them both in and out of uniform has been my favorite and most rewarding job so far.

“Hiring a Veteran isn’t just the right thing to do—it makes good business sense,” said Col. Adam Rocke, Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff and Director, Soldier For Life, at a Department of Labor event in the summer of 2015.
