The week long classes are expected to continue on a monthly basis in 2018, at locations that have high populations of military members, veteran service organizations, and businesses with a need to fill these types of positions. After graduation, attendees tend to take their new-found skills and certification to jobs in data intelligence and cybersecurity, Melley explained.
Earlier last year, IBM announced a new initiative to hire 2,000 veterans over the next three years to join their global technology company. Melley says those with military experience bring invaluable skills to the workplace.
“We recognize the
importance of public/private
collaboration in shaping fast
paths for service members to
gain skills necessary for
what we call "New Collar"
jobs of tomorrow,” Melley
said. “This program is
designed to help veterans get
the good-paying, 21st
century jobs and training
they deserve."
IBM® Data Intelligence and Cyber Security Training is free and open to all veterans. Enrollment is now open through CASY’s portal for training in Tampa, FL and Camp Dawson, WV. To view the full calendar of locations, visit https://www.casy.us/ibm-i2.
