What is the Ohio National Guard doing to support military-affiliated candidates with their employment needs?
David Kelly, Lead Employment Coordinator: The Ohio National Guard Employment Enhancement Program was created to connect service members and their family with employment opportunities that in turn enhances military and family readiness and resilience. NGEEP Specialists will assist through engagement and collaboration with employers, community leaders, local employment support programs and resources. Our goal is to cultivate and sustain a military friendly environment that improves employment outcomes for service members and their immediate family.
What resources are available to assist applicants as they look for work?
David Kelly, Lead Employment Coordinator: NGEEP offers full resume service, interview techniques, LinkedIn workshops and a referral system that will allow our clients a smooth transition from NGEEP to other assisting agents. Also, we will refer to other internal assistance such as Education and Incentives.
How are public & private partnerships playing a role in employment solutions for applicants in Ohio?
David Kelly, Lead Employment Coordinator: The partnership is outstanding and growing rapidly. The Ohio National Guard Outreach Office as built a robust employer outreach program that engages small and large businesses that want to hire our nation’s veterans. Outreach is primarily conducted through the Employer Advisory Council that is agenda driven based on the trends of the participating employers.
