The MSEJ Writers Guild:
Working One on One with Writers
In early January 2015, MSCCN rolled out our MSEJ Writers Guild. Our hope was to help military affiliates—spouses, Veterans, and military members—who wanted to gain some writing experience while publishing in the MSEJ.
By the Numbers
To date, six participants with diverse backgrounds and experiences have completed the program!
Together, they have drafted and published eight articles in the MSEJ, and many of their articles have been shared on social media and with the Army Wife Network (AWN) and the Association of the United States Navy (AUSN).
Five participants have joined our volunteer writing team on a permanent basis!
What Participants Had to Say
“I have attended other trainings and I felt as though the other organizations failed to meet the mark. This program was professional and compelling. It was absolutely worth everyone minute and hour I was able to squeeze out to participate and soak up their expertise and enthusiasm.“
“Outstanding, had a great experience learning and adjusting to requirements.”
“Overall, the training experience was good. The one-on-one feedback was the most helpful part. I learned a little about my own writing style and habits, and I learned about publishing. Very cool!”
“The one on one approach also offered the ability to ask questions specifically to your own writing style and get the feedback that you needed.”
