April 14, First Periodical of Ms. Abilities America, Inc. Preparations for Nationals Ladies, as we prepare to come to Nationals there are a few things you might want to consider:  Prepare your scrapbook and State Boards- Remember both of these are judged based upon organization, neatness, originality, and activity. There should be three areas: About Me (tells about yourself and about the honors, recognitions, etc.), About My state (information about the state you represent), and About my platform (information about your platform and the advocacy one has done towards your platform).  Your clothes should be nice and business like. You can wear the same clothing all day. One can opt to wear a formal, semiformal, or business. The clothing needs to look nice, as one does not want to distract from the interview or stage appearance. Also, remember this is your day to look and feel like a Queen.  Enough money to pay for travel, hotel, and other items you might need. We will be having the food for the pageant day covered during the pageant (breakfast and lunch). If you plan to stay overnight, we are going to have a BBQ at our lake on Saturday. Friday night, we will be going to the Oklahoma City Baseball game (we need an RSVP, if you plan to go to the game with us).  A prepared platform speech. You will have 3 minutes platform to give your speech. It does not have to be memorized; however, you should be able to give it without reading word per word off of the paper. A platform speech should be something you believe in and want to discuss with everyone on the spur of the moment. The platform should do something with turning disabilities into positive abilities and working on solutions to make positive outcomes for those who have disabilities. (i.e. Suicide p ɕٕ
