Random Acts Of Kindness
What direction do you hope to see the RAK movement go? Can
you see it becoming a worldwide movement?
I can definitely see it becoming a worldwide movement because there are so many
random acts of kindness movements out there, even if they aren’t named “RAK” they
have the same general idea. For example, I met a woman who started “a good deed a day”
movement which is the same idea as RAK: doing a good deed, randomly and because you
can. I think the words “help when you can, because you can” are very powerful. If everyone practiced this philosophy the world would be a much better place. We often have that
extra second to hold the door open, or the smile to give, or the 2$ to buy someone’s coffee,
so we might as well do it and hope that this act will create a ripple effect. People are tired
of war, of violations of human rights, and of just all bad things in general. People want to
believe in the good in humanity, people need to see the good in humanity. These acts take
people away from their worries and allows them to focus on the present positive moment.
Are there any words you’d like to say to the many people just
finding out about this movement? Words of encouragement/
insight?
The words of encouragement I would give is to help others around us. Be
the first to start a ripple effect of positivity by being kind and inspiring others to do
the same. Helping others also helps us and allows for us to live a happy life. When
we know that we have had a positive impact on the world, we can be at peace. The
life we are living is a mysterious experience and we must simply make the most of it.
Be the best person we can be and leave the world better than when we came in to it.
A little thought and
a little kindness are
often worth more than
a great deal of money.
