Packing Pack heavier items further down in the pack and close to your body to keep the weight near your center of gravity. Put camp items in the bottom of the pack. Frequently-used items should be put near the top. Small items such as sunscreen, lip balm, a few snacks, cameras, and notepads can go in the lid. Filling dead space in the pack with extra clothing helps round out the load and help it carry better.\r\n“I look for a versatile pack, something that can be used in training and on a variety of climbs. My goal is to grow to love a pack and to get very efficient at using it so that when I\'m up high and tired, I can get to what I need quickly.\" Melissa Arnot
