Community Benefit is one of the most important and measurable ways we fulfill our mission.
First and foremost, Community Benefit demonstrates our commitment to service and stewardship.
We collaborate and partner with community organizations to provide compassionate, holistic care to
help meet the needs of all people we encounter — not only those who enter our doors seeking care but
also those we reach out to proactively to deliver care, who often are among the most vulnerable and
underserved in our communities.
The 2014 Community Benefit Report highlights representative stories of our colleagues in action –
demonstrating their passion and commitment to deliver Mount Carmel’s mission and promise to
provide people-centered care. Individually, these stories are revealing snapshots of who Mount Carmel
is and what makes our colleagues so special. Collectively, the stories document the many ways we are
making a difference in the communities we serve. From assisting young mothers and their newborns,
to helping families make difficult end-of-life decisions, to providing tutoring sessions and lunches to
children in need, to providing medical and mental health care services abroad – these are powerful
examples of the work we do every day to serve others and build a healthier community.
