CREMATION
Since 1900 , Mount Auburn Cemetery has provided cremation services to the greater Boston area , whether a cremation burial is intended at Mount Auburn or not . Our Crematory is housed in a peaceful and attractive setting adjacent to Bigelow Chapel , and can accommodate families for witness cremations if they wish to be present at the start of the cremation process . All cremations are carried out in accordance with the highest standards and with dignity and care .
Our cremation service fee includes the packaging of the resulting remains in a temporary container and the issuance of a cremation certificate . Mount Auburn does not provide transportation services which may be obtained through a funeral director .
