MEMORIALIZATION
Purchases of burial space come with opportunities to place a monument or add an inscription , specific to the location . Memorial setting and inscriptions are a seasonal activity , occurring April through November . Floral tributes can be placed graveside year round and are available to purchase seasonally through our webstore . Virtual memorial pages are set up for all burials as a place to share remembrances for those who cannot visit in person .
INSCRIPTIONS Mount Auburn performs inscription work on any shared memorials for a fee . In most locations , this fee is $ 300 plus $ 17 per character .
It is the responsibility of an owner or heir to request an inscription to be completed . Inscriptions done on private monuments should be coordinated directly with a monument dealer and require Cemetery approval for a permit to conduct work onsite .
MONUMENTS For lots permitting a private monument , you must consult a monument dealer . All monuments are approved by the Cemetery in order to conform to specified guidelines before the purchase of a monument .
Mount Auburn conducts all foundation and setting of monuments and markers for a fee determined by the size and type of the memorial . Foundation and setting fees start at $ 900 .
