Observer dated June 26 , 1976 , stated that the Guild participated in the Georgia Heart Association and the Community Chest Drive , which was the predecessor to United Way of Colquitt County .
“ I ’ m grateful to be a member of this club , and to be able to feel the warmth and compassion that we have for each other ,” said Suzanne Mashburn , current president . “ We are a family with diverse backgrounds and interests that come together to make good things happen .”
“ I joined the Federated Guild shortly after we moved here , this is how I met so many friends and became involved in our wonderful community ,” said Lesa Moser , member and past president of Moultrie Federated Guild .
Reaching outside of the community to offer assistance , the Guild has made an annual contribution to the Tallulah Falls School , an independent , coeducational boarding and day school , which is owned by the Georgia Federation of Women ’ s Clubs . After the Korean War , the Guild “ adopted ” a Korean orphanage and sent financial help to this organization until it disbanded three years later .
In past years , the club has also “ adopted ” the library , keeping fresh flowers and plants on the desks and in the reading rooms , arranging story hours and , most importantly , raising money to purchase books and other supplies that were needed .
These motivated women have given thousands of dollars of scholarships over the years to high school seniors and non-traditional students and have supported the Veterans Bus ministry by making lunches for veterans riding down to the VA hospital and by raising money for the organization .
Their Community Improvements Projects over the years have included the South Main Street Park , the Edwards Cancer Center , working in a community garden at the Sunbelt Expo that benefits the Colquitt County Food Bank and maintaining the “ Welcome to Moultrie ” signs at the city limits .
“ There is a tremendous feeling about being part of something that is bigger than yourself , and that connection you feel when helping someone , or perhaps being the recipient of someone else ’ s help ,” said Mashburn .

Judy Adcock and Debbie Cannon deliver 77 boxes of cereal to the Colquitt County Food Bank from the Moultrie Federated Guild . The Guild collected them when they found out that the food bank was completely out and in desperate need of cereal for their shelves .
