Americans have , perhaps , a highly romanticized view of motherhood . We focus on the love , the patience , the corrections , the support . We place mothers upon a pedestal , attributing to them virtues that a mere human cannot hope to live up to . Yet we are unsurprised when they do . Because so much is expected of mothers , it ’ s hard to hold one up for going above and beyond , but Moultrie Scene offers you Beth Crawford . Crawford is the biological mother of one , but she adopted first her husband ’ s children from a previous marriage then five siblings who were at risk of being separated by the foster care system . After the death of her daughter , she ’ s now raising her granddaughter .

In his first story for Moultrie Scene , Allen Edwards talks with Seabie Ewer , of Moultrie , the longest-serving member of the band , about music , friendships and the band ’ s success .
