“ I ’ d say , even in the last five years , 10 years ,” he said , “ I think our diversification has been one of the biggest strengths we ’ ve had to help us survive as many years as we have .”
With a strong vision and a collaborative leadership between the three , the DeMotts continue to provide Colquitt County with the same spirit that Roscoe began with .
“ It ’ s not for the weak and the frail . Everyday we gotta get up with a plan ,” Scott DeMott said .
After 65 years , Scott DeMott said that he is overwhelmed and humbled by the anniversary , with Steward DeMott mentioning that they ’ ll be celebrating it all throughout the year .
“ We ’ re going to be celebrating our 65th anniversary all-year long ,” he said .
Looking to the future , the DeMotts are cautious , but grateful for having come so far .
“ We ’ re thankful . It ’ s been a blessing , but looking forward , it ’ s scary ,” Scott DeMott said , “ There are a lot of unknowns out there .”
Scotty DeMott , additionally , mentioned that his children may be at the helm one day , especially Scott “ Trip ” DeMott the Third .
“ He has already picked out the office across from mine ,” he said .
