Our 4th grade students had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Sandra“ Sandy” Magnus. Sandy is a Georgia Tech graduate, a Professor of Practice at the institute, and a 20- year veteran of NASA. During her time with NASA, Sandy completed three missions and spent over 150 days in space. In 2022, Dr. Magnus was inducted into the U. S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Her interaction centered on her journey to becoming an astronaut and answered questions regarding space travel that were submitted by the students.
Congratulations to our Hidden Hero nominees, Mrs. Mary Anderson( 4th Grade Teacher) and Mrs. Courtney Thompson( Media Specialist / Librarian). Both ladies made it into the top 10 out of 94 nominees in the Southern Region.
