Waiting is hard ... EXCEPT when you ’ re playing games !
Do you hate waiting at the doctor ’ s office , in the grocery line , at the restaurant or for your turn to ride a carousel ? Waiting , even for just a few minutes , can be such a hassle . It ’ s completely understandable . Nobody likes waiting .
You can make the time go by a little faster by playing a game with your family . Just make sure you don ’ t disturb the other people waiting . Try one of these games :
• Guess the sound . Close your eyes and open your ears wide . Try to name the sounds you hear , like a radio , coffee machine , telephone or fire truck . The winner is the one who identifies the most different sounds .
• I spy . Look around you and choose an object everyone can see . Then , ask a family member to try and guess the object by asking you “ yes ” or “ no ” questions .
• Draw on my back . Get someone to draw a picture on your back , like a heart , a star , a sun or even a smiley face . The aim of the game is to guess what it is . It ’ s not always easy .
