Bull & Briar crafts quality leather goods
by Katherine Russell
There can be great promise for a business when it is born from a love of craft . In the case of a man from Meigs , that promise has been borne out . Bryan Wynn is an avid hunter and outdoorsman who merged his love of wildlife with his passion for quality leather goods in the company Bull & Briar Leather , which is based in Meigs . Wynn grew up helping out in his grandfather ’ s upholstery store , where he learned to sew and made his first belts from rattlesnake skins .
“ In 2014 , I dusted off my grandfather ’ s 1943 Singer Sewing Machine and started teaching myself to sew again ,” Wynn said . “ The first belts I made were just gifts for friends , but soon things started to take off .”
To quote from the company ’ s website : what started out as an idea to make a friend a rattlesnake belt has now grown into a popular business that sells individual items as well as wholesale products .
Bryan Wynn prepares belts with the help of his daughter Nora Grace Wynn .
