Cultivating success
FFA floral program prepares members for a vibrant future

Some students abandon their high school clubs or organizations once they obtain their diplomas on graduation day . But not with the Colquitt County Future Farmers of America . The club has had numerous successes with its horticulture programs , specifically floral design , that have continued with members into college and business .
Kaitlyn Hart , a 2019 Colquitt County High School alumna , joined the Colquitt County Future Farmers of America in her sophomore year . She was led by Adrienne Smith , her FFA advisor at CCHS , during her time in the organization .
What initially started as Hart ’ s FFA-supervised agricultural experience project , shortly turned into a floral business called “ Kait ’ s Blossoms .”
“ Kait ’ s Blossoms began when I was a sophomore in high school through my supervised agricultural experience project ( SAE ) and my FFA program ,” Hart said . “ I started in the 10th grade just wanting to have some income on the side and fulfill the requirements for the SAE .”
She continued participating in Future Farmers of America at the college level with the University of Georgia after her high school graduation . She is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Food Industry Management with a minor in General Business and
