Gems and Jewels Doerun business ignites interest in fossils and stones

One couple is birthing rock and fossil enthusiasts from students to local tourists in their Doerun rock shop . Anthony Michniak and
Andrea Burgess are the sole owners of Naturally Cool Gems and Jewels . The shop opened in December of 2021 and features a slew of international and nationally imported multicolored gems , fossils across the state and jewelry .
Burgess has been a jeweler for over 15 years . Her career in the jewelry industry began at Kres Jewelers , her family ’ s former jewelry store in Bainbridge . By the age of 16 , Burgess began creating her own jewelry pieces and decided to attend Darton College in Albany , after graduating from high school . She completed an apprenticeship at Allen ’ s Jewelers
“ My dad ’ s passed away , but he was a master jeweler and a gemologist . I grew up around jewelry
Local rock enthusiasts and tourists are welcome to visit Naturally Cool Gems and Jewels , 123 W . Broad Ave . in Doerun . The rock shop is owned by Anthony Michniak and Andrea Burgess and features a slew of international and nationally imported multicolored gems , fossils and jewelry .
