“ It ’ s just about spreading the knowledge of turkey hunting . We can continue to raise money but we are also looking to bring in as many people as we can who may have an interest in hunting turkey .”
One of his proudest moments was taking a woman in a wheelchair to get her first turkey .
“ We had gotten out there and we were out there for about three to four hours . I was so close to just packing it all up . I felt bad because I wanted to get this woman her turkey . Well , finally a few came through the tree line and we ended up getting her one . It was great to see her light up after waiting so long ,” he said .
While Susan is currently serving as the Double Gobble president , Ronnie can ’ t seem to get away from it . He regularly helps with programs and events . His work on the national board includes “ a lot of committee meetings .”
He currently sits on many financial based committees since joining the board in 2020 .
“ There ’ s a lot of committee meetings . Like I said , God has blessed me with money and that knowledge that he has given me has allowed me to help this organization in so many ways .” Reagin is up for board reelection next year . If he is reelected , he will finish that term on the board then he will officially hand up his turkey call .
“ There is so much more that could be said and should be said . It ’ s an organization I am very proud to be a part of and I thank God for letting me be a part of it .”
Ronnie Reagin attempts to entice a rafter of turkeys with one of his favorite box calls . The mouth call around his neck is homemade from the wing bone of a turkey .
