Ronnie Reagin sits with some of his most prized possessions . These turkeys represent his completion of a World Slam — hunting every species or subspecies of turkey that is native to Canada , North America and Mexico .
“ None of this stuff is just me . There are so many people both past and present that I would need to thank . I ’ d feel bad if I left anybody out ,” Reagin laughed .
That doesn ’ t mean he didn ’ t try . Reagin provided a complete roster of all past and present Double Gobble committee members which totaled out to 42 people .
His work with the NWTF comes simply from his “ love of the outdoors .”
“ The ‘ Save the Habitat . Save the Hunt .’ initiative is something that is very important . The NWTF is not only about funding land and animal conservation but it ’ s about helping to bring the next generation into the sport ,” he said . The Double Gobble has continuously sponsored Jake ’ s hunts which is a mentorship program where members will take hunters , under the age of 17 , on hunts to grow basic understanding of practices and to have a guiding hand . While Reagin is proud of this , he says that mentorship is for all ages .
Reading is one of Ronnie Reagin ’ s passions . Here he is perusing an edition of Turkey Call , a magazine distributed by the NWTF . He has a large number of hunting books but he does enjoy the occasional television show . He and his wife enjoy watching Perry Mason reruns .
