“... I really have loved doing weddings in Moultrie. I’ ve gotten to know people by whether they’ ve been in a wedding or they’ ve attended a wedding. That’ s really how I’ ve gotten to know so many people here in town, prior to coming here.”

“ I find that oftentimes, the more options that you’ re presented with, the more difficult it is to make a decision. I found that three selections works best. It’ s been very successful,” he said.
He said the most important thing was that the client shows up the day of their wedding and there is no stress because everything is handled for them.
I asked Corey what kind of trends he was seeing in weddings and he said that color was definitely making a comeback. People were implementing Spring and Summer colors in Fall weddings.
“ We’ re also seeing another kind of surge in the beautiful white and green weddings, which is my personal favorite,” he added.
People are really kind of honing into tradition right now, he said, so they’ re using their grandmother’ s silver. They’ re selecting their bridal bouquet based on what their mother or grandmother carried in their weddings.
“ Also, the out-home wedding is coming back,” he said.
As I said above, The Carriage House 323 is filled with an array of beautiful things, which change with the seasons and the contents of the shop are ever-evolving.
“ I am very intentional with selecting the items that are placed in the store,” Corey said.“ I try to select things that remind me of people, places and things from my childhood.”
He said he tries not to go too trendy, so there’ s a lot of porcelain, monogrammed hand towels, orchid compositions and container gardens. Also, he said, beautiful, fresh-cut florals and he has two candle lines that are higher-end.
He said the candles remind him of people that he knows and their favorite scent and when he walks by them, he might think of that particular person.
“ People should purchase things to put in their home that they feel an attachment to. We shouldn’ t just buy something to fill a space. We should feel a connection to it,” he said.
So, Corey said, he really tries to make sure that his shop is curated, in the same way, with the merchandise that he puts in it.
He said they have recently gotten into carrying China and they will also be doing a bridal registry. He said they have Pickard China, which is an American made brand, that has a great price-point and is very versatile.
Corey said they were not a traditional flower shop, although they do funeral work and everyday work but they do a lot of orchids and container gardens.
“ Things that have a multi-use. … long after. Of course, we take orders for celebrations and daily work, such as that. But, you know, I don’ t keep a stocked cooler, I guess you would say,” he said.
He said the majority of people that call and want to send something, if he doesn’ t have a cooler of flowers, at the time, they are happy to send orchids or do something like that. He said he also does gift baskets, complimentary wrapping and in-town delivery.
I think nothing really embodies what you’ ll find at the Carriage House than what is posted on its Facebook page,“ While simple, our goal is to provide beautiful florals, stunning events and unique gifts while creating a memorable experience for all who enter our doors.”
