Life Unlimbited held a ribbon cutting last year when they moved into their facility at 220 Ga . Hwy . 33 South , Moultrie . The facility houses the Ron Andrews Care Closet , meeting space , and an office . tary , a longtime City of Moultrie employee and coach at Colquitt County High School . Singletary had had health issues beginning with a groin aneurism in 2010 ; after almost two dozen surgeries , he was forced to consider amputation of his leg below the knee .
“ I didn ’ t want my leg amputated ,” Singletary told The Moultrie Observer in February 2020 . “ I was like , ‘ No , I ’ m not going to do it ,’ but by this time things were getting worse . My tissue and toes were dying , turning black . Everything was dying from my toes down .”
Prestridge said she was one of the people who spoke with Singletary in an attempt to help him through the procedures .
She and another amputee , Shabrella Priester , envisioned a support group for people like themselves . Colquitt Regional Medical Center offered the use of its Ferguson Board Room as meeting space . The organizational meeting took place March 10 , 2020 . The room was packed .
