In 2022 ...
Colquitt County School District focuses on supporting students and staff

“ Each day , excellence in every way .” “ Packer Point of Pride .” These are two of the guiding statements used in and about the Colquitt County School District . As we hit the middle of the 2021- 2022 school year , we are proud to say that we are seeking excellence in every way and that our students , teachers , and staff are exhibiting themselves in that well-known Packer Point of Pride way .
The COVID-19 pandemic caused many to wonder what this school year would again look like , but we were ready . We prepared to address learning loss from the previous school year , enhanced the option for distance learning for those who need it long-term or just temporarily . We equipped students with one-to-one technology at every grade level . We worked with our health staff to find new ways to manage the response to reported cases and exposures so that they could again focus on other areas of their jobs and the students they are there to help . We are happy to say that we have been able to keep students attending face-toface classes at every grade level to date .
COVID or no COVID , we knew our teachers and staff continue to work tirelessly for the success of the student . This year we have looked closely at supporting employees through our pay structure , benefit offerings , and recognition . Led by a committee of employees from all levels , the District rolled out a new benefits package through Totem Solutions that added a robust offering of flexible benefits at a great cost and is in the process of rolling out a 403 ( b ) plan in which the District will match up to 6 % of the employees ’ contribution . first half of the year . The District added not one but two Employee Assistance Programs that provide access to confidential counseling services at no cost to the employee , their spouse , and dependent children each year . Our employees must know that we value them and want to help them be the best person they can be , and that means providing support for areas outside of work . We are proud to have moved in this direction and will continue to do so .
As we step into the second half of the school year , we are focused on enhancing the work and learning environment and showcasing the many great things happening at each school . The Board of Education approved the purchase of several new
