Hello and welcome to the Bridal edition of Moultrie Scene ! My sister recently got proposed to over the Christmas holidays , so this edition is extra special to me . Growing up , every Saturday morning I rushed into the den and plopped myself on the chair to watch the latest Say Yes to the Dress episode . I always guessed which dress the bride would pick . Once the episodes were over , I would go back into my room and sit at my old desktop computer , where I would play “ wedding consultant ” for the rest of my afternoon .
I had a notebook full of information from my “ clients .” I would need to know their name , age , groom ’ s name , venue , and who they brought with them . I of course , needed their budget too . I would then scan the Internet for hours looking for real wedding dresses for my fake clients . Once the bride was completed , I needed to know every one of their fake bridesmaids ’ names , so I could find them a dress . I loved it . I could live in my imaginary bridal world for hours . I told my parents that I was going to manage my own wedding dress shop when I grew up . Unfortunately for me , Albany only had David ’ s Bridal and it always seemed as if it was on its last leg . So , I had to give up that dream . But , I never gave up my love for event planning and weddings in general . The day my sister got engaged , I reverted to my former “ bridal planner ” ways .
I headed to Books-A-Million the following afternoon and purchased a full bridal etiquette book , along with a binder that has everything for brides .
I have since become much more familiar with budgeting , wedding parties , and types of wedding dresses .
Needless to say , crafting a wedding-themed issue was the cherry on top of a fun bridal season .
I have loved every minute of getting to see these bride ’ s pictures from their big day and hearing about the smallest details that made everything perfect .
From intimate ceremonies at the arts center to larger events at Ashburn Hill , these brides have hosted the most stunning days imaginable .
However , it wouldn ’ t have been possible without the help of hairstylists and venues and caterers .
We made sure to talk to everyone who plays a role in making the day the perfect one and we hope by doing that , some of you recently engaged gals may feel less stressed at the idea of what comes next .
We look forward to seeing your weddings as well . For those who helped make this bridal edition come true , thank for sharing your stories of engagement and the big day with us . We hope you can add one last special write-up in your bridal scrapbook .
