Not too far from Moultrie , but far enough to offer beautiful country views and privacy , the Lily Pond Farm Event Center is a place that welcomes your event , whatever the occasion .
Owned by the Howell Family , the venue is located at 271 Dorminey Road , on the edge of a pond that features a peninsula and a fantastic backdrop for a wedding ceremony , where many couples have recited their vows .

When I sat down with Nancy and Billy Howell , one of the first things that Billy said was , “ We wanted something that the working-class families can afford .”
He said that he and his son , Rod , had catered all over South Georgia with their business My- T-Fine BBQ , and had been in and out of different event centers .
“ We ’ d cater events for people and people started saying , ‘ Do you have a place , just somewhere out in the country , with maybe some trees , that we could set a tent up and rent it for a birthday party or shower or a wedding or graduation party ?’ And I kept telling them , ‘ No , we didn ’ t ’,” he said .
He went on to give a little history of how he and his family acquired the property , which is next to his family ’ s farm . The property was originally owned by the Dorminey Family , who had moved up to North Georgia but kept the property , which also had a pond house on it .
Billy said that , as a boy , when he got home from school , he had picked up roots for a dollar an afternoon on the pond ’ s dam while it was being dug .
